Advanced Technology
Effective & reliable dental innovations
Cutting-Edge Technology
At Central Endodontics of Long Island, we pride ourselves on utilizing the latest dental technology to enhance patient care and treatment outcomes. Our advanced tools and equipment ensure precise diagnostics and effective procedures, reducing discomfort and recovery time.
From CBCT scanning to Waterlase laser treatment, we integrate state-of-the-art technology into every aspect of our practice. This commitment to innovation allows us to provide minimally invasive treatments with optimal results.
Endodontic Technologies Offered
GentleWave® System
Sound Wave Technology
The internal anatomy of a tooth contains microscopic branches and narrow channels that can be difficult to reach. The GentleWave® System uses a specialized combination of sound energy and optimized fluid dynamics to gently and thoroughly cleanse these complex spaces with minimal instrumentation.
Treatment fluids are degassed beforehand to allow better flow into the root canal system. Once activated, multisonic sound waves create a dynamic fluid environment that helps dislodge debris, disrupt biofilms, and promote deep disinfection—all while preserving more of the natural tooth structure. This minimally invasive approach supports both comfort and precision during care.
Waterlase® iPlus
Laser-Enhanced Disinfection
Waterlase® iPlus is a high-precision erbium laser that supports root canal treatment by activating disinfecting solutions using light energy. As the laser interacts with the irrigant, it generates microbubble activity through a process called laser-induced cavitation. These bubbles rapidly expand and collapse, creating hydrodynamic forces that move the irrigants effectively throughout the canal system.
The result is enhanced removal of bacteria and debris—even in areas that are otherwise hard to reach. This laser-based technique is particularly helpful in disinfection and tissue debridement, all while remaining minimally invasive and patient-friendly.
CBCT Imaging
Carestream 9600
Every tooth has its own unique anatomy, and understanding that complexity is key to successful treatment. The Carestream 9600 CBCT scanner provides highly detailed, 3D images of teeth and surrounding structures—including root anatomy, sinuses, nerves, and blood vessels—allowing for a more precise and personalized approach to care.
This advanced imaging technology helps in planning root canal treatment with accuracy from the beginning and offers valuable insight when evaluating previously treated teeth. It plays a critical role in identifying the reason for treatment failure and guiding retreatment or surgery when necessary. It’s also useful in monitoring healing when follow-up is needed.
To ensure optimal image quality—especially in cases with metal crowns, posts, restorations, and implants—specialized metal artifact reduction (MAR) software minimizes distortion and enhances clarity, helping us see the details that truly matter.
Dental Microscopes
Using a dental microscope during endodontic procedures offers significant advantages in terms of precision and effectiveness. This specialized tool provides enhanced magnification and illumination, resulting in a clear and detailed view of the tooth’s root canal system. It allows for precise identification of canals, anatomical complexities, and potential issues, leading to more accurate diagnoses and targeted treatments. By reducing the risk of oversight and improving our ability to navigate intricate root canal structures, the use of a dental microscope elevates the standard of care in endodontics.
ASI Cart
The ASI cart is a custom-designed, mobile unit that keeps all essential endodontic instruments organized and within reach. By allowing seamless access to tools during treatment, it helps maintain a smooth workflow and minimizes interruptions.
This level of efficiency supports precise, focused care—helping treatments proceed more comfortably and without unnecessary delays.
